Clegg clears it up

The last Prime Ministerial debate was by far the liveliest and best.  The debates have generally been an excellent innovation.  They have generated huge public interest and will, I feel sure, form a permanent feature of general election campaigns.

Nick Clegg, to his credit, answered the question I posited in my last blog post.  He informed the audience in unequivocal terms that he is “not advocating entry into the Euro”.

So how much else of the Lib Dem manifesto should we ignore?

One Response to Clegg clears it up

Nick Clegg is talking in the present tense when he says he is “not advocating entry into the Euro” Therefore, the original statement stands, i.e. “when the time is right.”

If our law can be overridden so easily by unelected, unknown, unwanted foreign bureaucrats, I’m sure the pound will follow in due course, whatever the people say. All it needs are subtle little moves like turning “constitution” into “Treaty” or “Market” into “Union”. If they can do that, why shouldn’t the “Pound” become “Euro” whilst the people sleep ?

Of course, it would help if, after 13 years of Labour Education, more of our young first time voters could actually read.
