Final Prime Ministerial debate tonight, this time on the economy.
The crisis in Greece and its knock-on effect throughout the Eurozone will inevitably overshadow the event.
The Liberal Democrats’ manifesto has this to say on the Euro:
We believe that it is in Britain’s long-term interest to be part of the euro. But Britain should only join when the economic conditions are right, and in the present economic situation, they are not.
It will be fascinating to hear Mr Clegg explaining precisely why he considers it to be in our national interest to join the single currency and when he anticipates the time will be right to do so.

If Gordo did one thing right, it was deciding not to join the Euro. It was the Conservatives, with Ted Heaths skullduggery decades ago who led us innocently into the “Common Market” via the back door, which mutated into the “Union” which will no doubt metamorphosise into the “State” in due course. Democracy and Great Britain are finished. We are in the hands of an unseen, unelected bureaucratic minority who override the aspirations of the people, whoever one votes into the machine.
Vote Conservative, by all means; if only to elect the least harmful of polititians into the nest of intellectual misfits who really rule us.
There is no real party to represent real people. The only power we have is the Maverick and absent voter. Until then, the estblishment will have it’s way whoever obtains power; and one day, we will have the Euro foisted on us in the same way we now have the decisions of judges from Estonia and the like overriding our ancient Common Law.
Whatever Nick Clegg, or anyone else says, the train has left, and we are unfortunately on it.
Most individual polititians, I am sure are honourable, and dedicated. The trouble is, the corporate body of which they are part, the establishment, is rotten, and out of touch with most people.
