Surgery at Ruthin today; then not one, but two cream teas, the first at Pensarn and the second at Bryn y Maen. Cholesterol becoming a serious issue.
Both functions were fund-raisers for local churches and both were very well attended. As the recession continues, it is interesting to see so many people supporting these community events.
It is also very pleasing to see increasing numbers of people willing to get stuck in by volunteering their help in community projects.
It is no exaggeration to say that many communities simply couldn’t function without the efforts of volunteers. The Government should be doing a lot more to encourage and support them.
